Learning, Leading, Succeeding

A young girl with long brown hair is holding a sign that says "Student of the Month" in a classroom setting with colorful decorations on the walls.

Savannah is a natural born leader.  In class, she always observes expectations, follows classroom rules, and practices our procedures. She shows respect for herself, classmates, and adults and always jumps in to help in any matter of need whether it be helping a classmate with an assignment, helping a teacher, and even when she sees something that needs to be done in the classroom or around school.  Savannah is a true Panther and the Second Grade Team is proud to have her as Student of the Month.

The school culture at B. F. Grady Elementary is supportive with a warm environment. It is not only designed to engage students in their learning but to help them thrive both socially and emotionally. Duplin County Schools is a place where faculty and staff love their students and want nothing but the best for them.  We will do any and everything in our power to help every student succeed. I try to expose my students to how their learning connects to the real world.  We learn how to work with other people, even though we may disagree, and how to solve challenges that we are faced with.

Duplin County Schools is unique because of its loving, caring, and family-oriented atmosphere. Everyone is so friendly and supportive and it’s like having a big extended family.  DCS provides opportunities for my child to learn important values like teamwork, empathy, and inclusivity. It is truly heartwarming to see my child thrive in such a positive family environment. Not only has my child thrived at learning, but has had the opportunity to discover new interests by engaging in extracurricular activities and participating in enriching field trips

When I grow up, I plan on being a professional soccer player. Attending Duplin County Schools has helped me in that goal by providing me with an opportunity to be on the soccer team. I have improved my skills as a soccer player and I work well with my teammates. I enjoy getting to work in groups with my classmates. The teachers help students by being there for them every day.
