STEAMA Curriculum Facilitator
What is a STEAMA Curriculum Facilitator?
STEAMA Curriculum Facilitators are Teacher Leaders who serve a vital support role in each K-8 school in Duplin County. While each school may utilize its Curriculum Facilitator a little differently, we all serve the same major purpose: to facilitate the effective use of Curriculum and to elevate the level of Instruction that occurs in classrooms every day.
Some responsibilities of the STEAMA Curriculum Facilitator at B.F. Grady Elementary School are:
- Acts as the Academically / Intellectually Gifted (AIG) School Coordinator
- Uses district and state guidelines to identify and place qualifying students into the AIG program
- Follows state-mandated record-keeping of AIG records, including test data, differentiated education plans (DEPs)
- Provides resources and assistance for classroom teachers to enrich and differentiate instruction for all students, including AIG-identified students
- Arranges the administration of CogAT screening in 3rd grade
- Serves as the School Improvement Team (SIT) Process Manager
- Record-keeping and data management for the School Improvement Plan within Indistar
- Utilizes state and district feedback to adjust/align School Improvement Plan goals and actions
- Provides technical assistance for the following programs/platforms
- mClass/Amplify
- Edmentum
- HMH IntoReading/IntoLiterature/IntoMath
- Discovery Education
- Social Studies Weekly
- Waterford
- Facilitates Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) along with site MTSS Coordinator and Intervention Specialists.
- Identifies students' areas of academic or behavioral needs
- Develop intervention plans to best support students
- Holds monthly MTSS meetings to track data
- Provides instructional resources for classroom teachers and interventionists
- Oversees and provides support for district and state benchmarking
- mClass/DIBELS assessments
- NC Early Learning Inventory
- SchoolNet benchmarks
- Edmentum diagnostic screeners
- K-2 Math Summative assessments
- Adheres to Read to Achieve Legislation
- Organizes and reviews Individual Reading Plans (K-3)
- Assists with Read to Achieve Summer Reading Camp planning and implementation
- Provides support for LETRS Science of Reading professional development
- Coordinates and prepares Parent Involvement events
- K-8 Curriculum Night
- BFG Family STEAMA Night (Sponsored by Duke Energy)
- Assists with End of Grade testing.
- Hosts weekly curriculum meetings to support teachers.
- Provide professional development as needed.
- Other duties not outlined here as assigned by supervisors.
